The Spiritual Gift Of Helps
What Are "Helps"? In 1 Corinthians 12:28 the word "helps" is a translation of the Greek term antilepsis which means literally "take hold of something to support it and hence to help, to give assistance. In Acts 20:35 it is translated, "support the weak" and in 1 Thessalonians 5:14 it is translated "uphold the weak."
What Is The Gift Of Helps?
The idea of the spiritual gift of helps is that the Holy Spirit enables a person to have a special sensitivity to those in need within the body of Christ or to tasks that need doing in the body of Christ that perhaps would otherwise go undetected or neglected in the body.
This spiritual gift comes from the heart of God whose Son came as a Servant to set an example for His disciples to follow (John 13), and whose Son sent The Helper (John 14:16,26; 16:13-15) to assist His disciples.
The spiritual gift of helps is the enablement by the Holy Spirit, the Helper, to recognize burdens and assist those with burdens. The person with this gift sees needs and meets needs and gets joy in doing so. The person with this gift is spirit motivated to meet needs, they do not need outside prompting, the spirit shows them the need and empowers them to meet the need.
The person with the spiritual gift of helps has a servant's heart. Therefore, we see the image of Jesus clearly in the life of the person with the gift of helps.

Oh how thankful am I for all these "helps"! God give us more of them! Every Christian ought to work on cultivating this gift in their lives. We ought to have a reputation as always being willing to help others. Of course, the greatest way to be a help to others is to witness to them about the gospel.
Are you struggling and need help? Then call upon the Lord and see if he does not send you helpers.
