Safe In Christ Jesus

.
"The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD." (Proverbs 21:31)

"I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety." (Psalm 4:8)

"Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually." (119:117)

"The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe." (Proverbs 18:10)

The above verses are precious promises indeed! Safety is a precious commodity in our fallen world. No one is safe except those who are in Jesus Christ, the true believer in his person and work.

Many within the Christian world debate over the safety and security of the one who has trusted in Christ alone for salvation. Yet, these verses are plain and give the believer reason to put full faith and confidence in the Lord who has become his Master, Shepherd, Husband and Protector. You put your hand in the hand of the Lord, with a penitent and believing heart, and he will bring you safely through life and land you safely on the happy shores of God's promised land.

Sinner, you are in a very dangerous and precarious state. Oh that you could see how unsafe you are outside of Christ, while under the guilt and condemnation of your sins! You are sinking in the deep mire of your sin and your only hope is to grab hold of him who's name is "The Branch"!

All the temporal safety any enjoys is "of the Lord." If we make it home safely from a drive in the car, we can thank God for it. If we enjoy safety in our homes, we can thank God for it. But, how safe are we from fear? How safe in reference to the coming judgment day?
